Coordination disorders
Cerebellum ( little brain ) is a part of the brain most responsible for regulating the movement serangakaian , also control the balance and posture .
CAUSE
Long-term alcohol abuse merupakn most frequent cause of damage to the cerebellum .
Other causes are :
- Stroke
- tumors
- Certain diseases ( eg multiple sclerosis )
- Certain chemicals
- Lack of nutrition ( malnutrition ) .
Some hereditary diseases ( eg, Friedreich's ataxia and ataxia - telangiectasia ) , can also cause damage to the cerebellum .
SYMPTOMS
Various types of incoordination can occur because of damage to the cerebellum : Patients dismetria not able to control the precision of body movements .
For example, when trying to reach an object , even patients reach what is behind the object in question .
In ataxia sufferers can not control the position of the arms and legs or her attitude , so they wobble and arms moving in a zigzag pattern .
Poor coordination of the muscles of speech allow dysarthria , characterized by talking rero and the volume up and down uncontrollably .
The movement of the muscles around the mouth are also greatly exaggerated .
Tremor .
