Parasite Infection In Brain & spinal cord



In some parts of the world , the worm can infect the brain .
In the western region , the most common infection is cysticercosis . Once someone eating food contaminated by Cysticercus eggs , liquid eggs embedded and stomach causing larval form .
The larvae enter the bloodstream and spread throughout the body , including the brain .

The larvae develop into cysts which can cause headaches and seizures .

If the cyst degeneration and larvae die , there will be inflammation , swelling and neurological abnormalities .


Schistosomiasis is a worm infection that can cause seizures , neurological dysfunction and increased pressure in the brain .

Ekinokokosis is an infection that causes the formation of large cysts in the brain and cause a variety of neurological disorders and seizures .

Koenurosis is an infection that causes the formation of cysts , which can block the flow of fluid around the brain .

These infections can be controlled with drugs ( eg praziquantel and albendazole ) , but sometimes need surgery to remove the cyst .
